- Please be aware that access to the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica is subject to Vatican regulations and ceremonies. The Vatican Museums or the Basilica may decide to close these sites on short notice due to official events or religious proceedings. In the event of any unexpected developments, we are unable to foresee or control these closures in advance. However, your ticket will still grant you access to the Vatican Museums.
- Visitors holding a disability card with more than 75% are entitled to free entrance and do not need to purchase a ticket.
- Knees and shoulders must be covered to enter during your visit.
- Please note: Michelangelo’s “The Last Judgment” on the altar wall of the Sistine Chapel is scheduled for an extraordinary maintenance and conservation intervention starting in January 2026, with scaffolding covering the wall for several months. Although the chapel remains open to visitors, the scaffolding will partially obscure the fresco during this period.
